The Real Votive

Many of us are uncertain about offering of votive (नवस or मन्नत) to God. In the discourse dated 8th May 2014, Sadguru Shree Aniruddha (Dr. Aniruddha D. Joshi) has explained in very simple words on what a true votive should be. This clip of 4 mins will give a clarity on this.

Pratyaksha - Tulsipatra Agralekhs and WW3 news, a pleasant irony!

Trivikram

The Daily Pratyaksha is flooded with news related to conflicts, tensions and the brutal war which is slowly leading to the gruesome World War III. While these news unsettle the reader, the pleasant difference which we await for every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday are the Tulsipatra Agralekhs written by Dr. Aniruddha D. Joshi (lovingly called Aniruddha Bapu).

On one side is the horrific brutality which is currently taking place across the globe and on the other is the unconditional and boundless love of 'Swayam Bhagwan Shree Trivikram'.

Every subsequent story of Shree Trivikram opens yet another door to HIM. Moreover, every story increasingly shows HIS infinite compassion, which is irrespective of the mistakes or even the sins of the devotee. There is absolutely no barrier between a bhakta and HIM. As said by Swayam Bhagwan Trivikram - "All I look at is your mind (मन)". Just thinking about HIM with a pure heart and wanting to improve is enough for HIM to cover even the farthest of distances to reach to the bhakta. In fact, no distance is too much for HIM to cover, for HE is the one who comes for our help even before we call out to HIM when in a difficulty. HE is our Father, our Sadguru... but above all, an inseparable FRIEND, who never betrays...

I LOVE YOU, MY DAD!!!

Website for discussion on 'The Third World War'

How many would agree with me when I say that the world is on the brink of 'The Third World War'? I am sure not many would. Well, my words may not hold much significance as such. But if I say that several famous personalities such 'His Holiness' the Pope and other world leaders are also saying the same thing, it is something that cannot be ignored.

Common man is usually ignorant of such news. And if at all he is aware about it, he is only a passive receiver of such updates. If he would like to express his views, opinions and thoughts, he is unable to find a website or a discussion platform where to express his thoughts. These comments can be in a single sentence or it may be a detailed analysis on an event by linking it to some previous news and so on.

One such website that I found to be very useful is www.WorldWarThird.com. The associated Facebook and Twitter pages induce meaningful comments and is a platform for some interesting discussions. Moreover, some specific and detailed news related to the Third World War are posted on a daily basis as well.

I would urge each and everyone to go through this website and participate in the discussions, it will certainly make all of us aware of what exactly is going on around us. Ignorance is a bliss - but certainly not in this case.

Open Source initiative celebrating 20 years

The term ‘Open Source’ was coined in California on 3rd February, thus completing 20 years of a strong and increasing presence in the Digital world.

This initiative has indeed come a long way in the past two decades. It was a very welcome deviation in the Microsoft-Apple dominated “close” industry. In simple terms, Open Source upholds the idea that a license shall not restrict free distribution and that the source code should be included along with the program. Many a times, Open Source is misunderstood as ‘free’ software or program. It may be true 99% of the times, but there are certain exceptions too. To imagine a world without Open Source would be like to think what would happen without the likes of MySQL, PHP, Firefox, Android, Ubuntu etc.

In India, we are seeing the government increasingly use 'open source', it has already started to disseminate more information and offer more services online in the past few years. The initiative of ‘Digital India’ demands that open source be used more widely not just to save costs and time but also to ensure implementation of some of the ambitious plans effectively. This trend is seen in various other countries too. There is a shift from product purchase towards innovation. In this phase, it is crucial that awareness about ‘Open Source’ is created in an orderly and well-planned manner.
